Madrid witnessed the closing ceremony of the cultural program of the Spanish Presidency of the EU, with 40 musicians from Spain, Belgium and Hungary participating in the "Europe en vivo 2010" ("Europe live 2010") festival. The grand concert is already stamped in the permanent memory of European culture.

Buzek “pays tribute” to work of Spanish Presidency

The President of the European Parliament, Poland's Jerzy Buzek, said that the new collaboration methods introduced between Parliament and the rotating Spanish Presidency will set "a very good example" for countries taking up the baton over the next year and a half: Belgium, Hungary and Poland.

His statement was made during an event at the representation offices of the European Commission in Madrid to mark the end of the Spanish Presidency and the beginning of the Belgian Presidency.
